Mackie Lake House presents West Kelowna’s own Jodie B in a live, outdoor concert on the shores of Kalamalka Lake.

Jodie B is a live looping artist whose blend of indie folk and hip-hop is as genre-defying as it is captivating, with soulful, electronic rhythms. Lyrical, accessible, and warm, her music is inviting and deeply authentic.

Grounded by her South African and Qalipu Mi'kmaq ancestry, Jodie B speaks her truth as an Indie / Hip-Hop artist producing, writing and live looping her original productions. Her message promotes authenticity, equanimity, and perseverance.

From looping on the streets to performing live at international festivals, Jodie B conducts the sound of a smoky blues bar in the electric future. She orchestrates through a purple bass, a Fender Tele., and a 6 key harmonica belt. A Shamabala festival veteran, she has opened for artists such as Kytami, DubFx, The Pharcyde, and Methodman & Redman. Jodie B has produced and co-produced for hip-hop legends Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Mayday, Nino Bless, and Atmosphere in 2020.

About Music at Mackie

Visit Mackie Lake House for our annual celebration of great Canadian music talent, live on the shores of Kalamalka Lake! Music at Mackie is a unique way for visitors to experience our registered heritage site. This event serves as an annual fundraiser with all proceeds channeled towards our mission of preserving and presenting Mackie Lake House and its collections for the education and enjoyment of all.

Seating: Festival-style seating is first-come, first-served. BYO lawn chair or blanket.

Parking: Onsite parking is limited. We encourage patrons who are able to park next door at Sovereign Park, at Kidston Elementary, or nearby along Linden Drive, and leave parking spaces at Mackie Lake House for those with mobility concerns.

Food and Drink: Enjoy cold alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages and light snacks from our concession or BYO picnic. Watch our socials for additional announcements about food options.

Accessibility: Music at Mackie is an all ages event. Concerts are held outdoors on our lawn. Patrons bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. The concert area is accessed by a gravel pathway. Our outdoor washrooms are wheelchair accessible, gender neutral, and can accommodate a caregiver.
